The Mecenate Palace is a wonderful and well-located Hotel,
very tastefully decorated with marble and pictures without being
overbearing. Although the Basilica of St Mary Major is
not very well known, I hadn’t heard of it before, it is
none the less a stunning spectacle, beautiful both inside and
out. It only took us a few minutes to walk from the station
after getting the train from Florence, and the staff were exceptionally
polite and helpful without being intrusive. The rooms were
big enough, and the split bathrooms, one part twin sinks and
the adjoining room the shower etc., made it easier for two people
to get ready at the same time. Would recommend it to any
friends visiting Rome.

When we found out the actual hotel was full we were given a
room in the residence, and although we were a little apprehensive
at first, there was nothing for us to be worried about. It
was two doors down from the Hotel, and the residence rooms were
spacious and comfortable. They had high speed Internet
and flat screen TVs and we even had a little kitchenette. The
breakfast was ample and varied and the view from the terrace
was lovely. Excellent positions even the things that were
not close by were easily accessible by the metro and bus. The
Mecenate Palace was a real pleasure to stay in.

Really enjoyed our stay in Rome at the Mecenate. The staff
were really welcoming and helpful from the moment we got there. The
Terrace gad a lovely view and the breakfast was pretty varied
and kept us happy. The hotel was very classy and
seemed to have been recently decorated or touched up as everything
worked and seemed new. The location was also good for both
sightseeing and shopping and nightlife. Being close to
Termini also means that anything that was not walking distance
was easier to get to. If I had to change anything I would
have paid the extra to have a Deluxe room with a view of the
Basilica, but overall was very happy.
